About The Position

We’re currently seeking an Environmental Field Technician to support environmental monitoring and site operations field work primarily in the greater Southwest Virginia and Northwestern North Carolina area. This is a hands-on, field-based role for someone who has environmental fieldwork, mechanical systems, and site operations experience.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, geology, or a related field. Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to perform hands-on field tasks.
• Ability to work independently at remote project sites.
• Detail-oriented, dependable, and able to communicate effectively with project teams.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform discharge water sampling and monitoring in accordance with project scopes and regulatory protocols.
• Conduct routine site inspections and document site conditions.
• Support operation and minor maintenance of on-site pumps and environmental equipment.
• Assist with equipment checks, troubleshooting, and basic mechanical upkeep.
• Receive and manage material deliveries at project sites.
• Perform general site maintenance tasks, including light landscaping and tractor operation.
• Maintain detailed and accurate field notes, inspection logs, and sampling records.
• Follow GES safety protocols and participate in required safety training.
