As an Environmental Intern joining our growing team in Ewing, NJ, you’ll spend 11–13 weeks during Summer 2026 in a full-time (40 hours/week) immersive consulting experience that puts you at the center of impactful environmental projects. You won’t just observe—you’ll actively support project teams, conduct fieldwork, and help deliver solutions for global clients. This internship is your runway to build foundational consulting skills, apply your academic training, and explore long-term career pathways in the environmental and sustainability field. Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • Enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program in environmental science, geology, engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; experience writing or recording technical data is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and basic internet research.
  • Strong analytical and data‑management skills, including spreadsheet and database comprehension.
  • Detail‑oriented with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Self‑motivated with a proactive, results‑oriented mindset.
  • Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area.

Nice To Haves

  • 40‑Hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification (training may be provided if needed).

Responsibilities

  • Support project teams by managing multiple deadline‑driven tasks with a high level of quality.
  • Provide technical assistance on environmental assessments, permitting activities, and regulatory reporting.
  • Conduct fieldwork (up to 80% of time) following training, including soil and groundwater sampling, and oversight of drilling and subcontractors.
  • Assist in preparing technical documents—reports, proposals, and presentations—including formatting, proofreading, and document production.
  • Learn and apply environmental data management tools, modeling methods, and engineering analysis techniques.
  • Assist with planning and executing field investigations by logging soil borings, collecting samples, conducting field tests, and accurately recording data.
  • Conduct file reviews, perform site reconnaissance, and contribute to report preparation.
  • Complete all work in accordance with ERM’s quality standards, formats, and project deadlines.
