About The Position
EHS Intern Role Purpose / Mission The EHS Intern supports the Environmental, Health & Safety function by assisting with safety initiatives, compliance activities, environmental reporting, and continuous improvement efforts. This role provides hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment while helping protect employees, strengthen regulatory compliance, and reinforce Webco’s commitment to “Protect First Things Now.” The EHS Intern contributes to building a culture where safety, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence work together.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related field
- Basic knowledge of workplace safety principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Nice To Haves
- Previous internship or experience in a manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with OSHA standards and environmental regulations
- Experience with data analysis or safety management systems
Responsibilities
- Assist with safety audits, inspections, and hazard assessments throughout the facility
- Support incident investigations and help document root causes and corrective actions
- Help maintain OSHA logs and environmental compliance documentation
- Participate in safety committee meetings and prepare meeting summaries
- Assist with development and updating of safety procedures and training materials
- Conduct safety observations and help track corrective action completion
- Support environmental reporting related to air, water, and waste programs
- Help organize and deliver safety training sessions as assigned
- Assist with data collection and analysis to identify trends and improvement opportunities
- Collaborate with Operations to support Lean Manufacturing initiatives that improve safety and reduce waste
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements
