About The Position

The Environmental Services Associate will be responsible for the overall cleanliness and sanitation of the Center for Woman and Families, Men’s Service Center, Administrative Building and campus grounds under the general guidance of the Environmental Services Supervisor. The position of Environmental Services Associate requires a high degree of professionalism, adaptability, commitment and leadership ability in order to effectively uphold Coalition values and maintain an environment of dignity, respect and cooperation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Working knowledge of commercial environmental services.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule based on agency needs.
  • Ability to lift supplies and equipment on a continual basis.
  • Physical capability to stand, stretch, crouch, squat, and bend for long periods of time.
  • Understanding of OSHA standards regarding a safe work environment (e.g., slips, trips, and falls).
  • Knowledge of blood-borne pathogens, communicable diseases, and hazardous materials handling procedures.
  • Time management, planning, and organization skills.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to engage guests in facility cleaning.
  • Ability to follow directions effectively.
  • Basic critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and/or sanitize facility bathrooms and common areas.
  • Perform exterior campus cleaning, including parking lot maintenance, litter pickup, and landscaping upkeep.
  • Collaborate with guests to complete daily cleaning assignments.
  • Provide guests with cleaning supplies, equipment, and necessary materials.
  • Educate guests on proper cleaning and sanitation techniques as needed.
  • Maintain cleaning supply stations throughout the property.
  • Manage and maintain supply inventory.
  • Complete daily assigned tasks as directed by the immediate supervisor.
  • Sign daily records of community service hours performed by guests for court-ordered service and shelter guidelines.
  • Conduct radio checks and maintain radio communication while on duty.
  • Follow all safety rules, including safe chemical handling, ladder use, and hazard management.
  • Report safety, security, and facility concerns to appropriate staff and document them if needed.
  • Assist guests and staff as directed by the immediate supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
