About The Position

Environmental Services Supervisor is responsible for providing supervision and assistance to Environmental Services Technicians in maintaining a neat and clean environment for the Health Center. Assists with the operation of the Environmental Services department. Makes rounds of the hospital to determine special assignments, or project work which is needed and to ensure that all Environmental Services personnel duties are carried out as scheduled. Ensures training of each new employee is carried out and documented. Pay based on experience starting at $19.61

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a resource to staff while fostering an environment of collaboration and teamwork.
  • Conducts periodic staff/team meetings.
  • Assures that Environmental Services personnel are appropriately trained in all areas of their job. Maintains a record of all training. Assures that departmental personnel attend mandated educational in-services such as Orientation/ID Key, Fire Extinguisher Class, OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens, etc.
  • Co-supervises the daily operations of the Environmental Services department.
  • Develops and administers staffing schedules to maximize utilization of material and human resources to achieve superior patient/customer service.
  • Maintains accurate records for work schedules, equipment, supplies, inventory, cleaning schedules, and preventative maintenance cleaning schedules.
  • Promotes and utilizes Quality Improvement principles and methods to achieve continuously improving departmental services and systems. Responds to appropriate requests and initiatives from other Health Center departments and staff to improve services.
  • Selects and hire individuals possessing appropriate credentials and who demonstrate experience, initiative, innovation, self-direction and enthusiasm for the respective roles.
  • Supervises staff and monitors the quality and work performance of staff and work teams.
