ROLE SUMMARY The Environmental Solutions Manager is responsible for building, managing, and expanding long-term relationships with both clients and vendors while serving as a trusted advisor for environmental solutions, regulatory compliance, and waste stream optimization. This role delivers white-glove customer service and acts as a solution-finder for complex environmental and regulatory needs, including the management of waste stream opportunities through solution development and training of client personnel. The Environmental Solutions Manager oversees the procurement of environmental services, including negotiating contracts to ensure the most favorable terms, conditions, and pricing while maintaining compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies. In partnership with internal teams, this role seeks to expand the depth and breadth of the Company’s environmental service offerings within accounts and supports the successful implementation and ongoing management of those services. This position requires a hands-on, “on-the-ground” approach, working closely with clients, vendors, and internal teams. Travel is required up to 30%, with the potential for increased travel during the initial onboarding period for new key accounts or those that require site and facility audits.

Requirements

  • B.A. or B.S degree preferred or equivalent demonstrable experience
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in environmental affairs and waste management (hazardous, nonhazardous, & used oil) and recycling industry strongly preferred
  • Waste identification/characterization/profiling
  • Hazardous waste manifest preparation/tracking
  • DOT Hazmat
  • Regulatory inspections
  • Regulatory permit compliance (preparation a bonus)
  • Preparation/compliance with SWPPP and SPCC
  • Regulatory reporting
  • Recycling/Sustainability
  • Previous experience working with clients in a fast-paced, highly complex, deadline-oriented service environment
  • Disciplined organizational skills in all aspects of job duties with strong attention to detail
  • Mastery in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Properly prioritizes tasks within their day and manages time wisely
  • Ability to multi-task with high degree of attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Key Accounts to support client-specific environmental services and specialized waste stream needs.
  • Serve as a technical and solutions expert on environmental services, regulatory compliance, and waste stream optimization.
  • Support solution development and implementation through client and vendor meetings, presentations, site and facility audits, and day-to-day service or procurement requests.
  • Design and implement customized, compliant environmental and waste stream solutions, including on-site support and client training as needed.
  • Identify and implement process improvements across client operations and internal workflows to enhance efficiency and service quality.
  • Develop, manage, and evaluate a robust vendor network for specialized and non-routine waste streams, ensuring performance, compliance, and service quality.
  • Act as a liaison between vendors and internal teams to align service capabilities with client needs.
  • Manage procurement, contracts, pricing, and negotiations for environmental services, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and policies.
  • Lead or support bid proposals for new environmental services, including vendor sourcing, pricing analysis, and scope development.
  • Maintain awareness of environmental regulations and support audits, regulatory reviews, and required documentation.
  • Support environmental audits, regulatory reviews, and documentation as required.
  • Prepare customer-specific quarterly reports and maintain accurate data in client and vendor systems; provide system training as needed.
  • Communicate risks, opportunities, and recommended solutions to leadership and collaborate cross-functionally to improve scalability and service delivery.
