This position conducts complex on-site energy efficiency inspections to ensure completion, appropriateness, and quality of energy efficiency measures under the Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) and other state energy conservation programs; Performs advanced safety diagnostic testing to detect areas of non-conformance and identify potential health and safety issues resulting from energy efficiency improvements; Provides technical monitoring and compliance verification of weatherization activities performed by sub-grantees and assists the Environmental Specialist III (Technical Lead) in implementing statewide monitoring, training, technical compliance activities, and federal program reporting. Work involves applying building science principles, federal and state regulations, and industry standards to evaluate weatherization work, support program quality assurance, assist with energy consumption evaluation activities, and ensure compliance with Department of Energy Weatherization Assistance Program requirements.
