About The Position

SCS is looking for a full-time environmental technician for our West Des Moines office. You will work with scientists and engineers on a variety of municipal solid waste landfill, groundwater well monitoring, and chemical/petroleum spill projects. Requirements

Associate degree in an environmental, civil, or construction related field preferred
1+ years of related experience preferred but not required
Completion or willingness to complete a 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training required
Solid technical, mechanical, and computer skills required. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required
Ability to perform fieldwork including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods of time required
Valid driver's license with a driving record in good standing required
Willingness to assist with emergency spill response during regular, evening, and weekend hours required
Ability to travel overnight for work outside of the Des Moines area, extended out of town fieldwork is required
