Position Summary: The Application Analyst I is a novice position that will learn to install, design, configure, train, and support Bozeman Health application systems. Provide expertise in area of application responsibility and work closely with subject matter experts on resolving incidents, fulfilling requests, and performing build that supports project requirements. Optimize the application through development of new functionality, testing, and implementing scheduled vendor releases and system upgrades. Ensure application changes follow change management procedures and protocols, create and maintain required documentation, and develop, plan, and execute testing for supported applications. Communicate all necessary application changes, enhancements, and procedures to all affected departments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or Healthcare Administration or related field; equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
  • Obtain Epic certification within one (1) year, examples include ClinDoc, Optime, Orders, Beaker, Radiant, Ambulatory, Healthy Planet, etc.
  • For current Bozeman Health employees, six (6) months of work experience in current information technology or Epic-user role.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment, patience, and maintains a professional demeanor at all times
  • Exercises tact, discretion, sensitivity, and maintains confidentiality
  • Performs essential job functions successfully in a busy and stressful environment
  • Learns current and new computer applications and office equipment utilized at Bozeman Health
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Analyzes, organizes, and prioritizes work while meeting multiple deadlines
  • This role requires regular and sustained attendance.
  • The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts.
  • On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs.

Nice To Haves

  • IT Service Management Foundation certification (ITIL Foundation)
  • Epic Accreditatoin or Certification in the module applicable to job assignment
  • One (1) year of user experience with Epic systems or other EHR system
  • One (1) year of healthcare industry knowledge / experience

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, and acitvate the application database.
  • Support new project development including system analysis, planning and preparation with oversight from senior analyst or supervisor.
  • Participate on new implementation / installation project teams.
  • Troubleshoot, research, and solve problems involving integrated systems with oversight from senior analyst or supervisor.
  • Test and verify software releases, upgrades, and changes prior to the promotion of code to the production environment.
  • Analyze business processes to ensure proper system configuration with oversight from senior analyst or supervisor.
  • Document and maintain all required system design and build documents.
  • Support end users within the facility and offsite locations.
  • Contribute to preparation of testing scripts and perform unit, system, and integrated testing tasks.
  • Log, track, analyze, and coordinates system changes including any software code implementations.
  • Participate in all key stakeholder working sessions and address incident tickets while fostering rapport and excellent communication.
  • Less than 20% travel required to support new implementation, learning/training objectives and IT initiatives.
