The Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Epidemiologist is responsible for planning and implementing evaluation activities, identifying, analyzing and interpreting public health data sources to support ongoing project needs, and producing reports to summarize findings, support program decisions and meet deliverables. This position is responsible for the collection, compiling, reporting, and management of data to support the MCH section efforts to address disparities faced by pregnant and postpartum individuals and their families in Franklin County. The MCH Epidemiologist I will identify public health problems pertinent to maternal, infant, and child health and use critical thinking to determine whether a public health problem exists, articulate the need for further investigation or other public health action on the basis of results of literature review and assessment of current data. In addition to conducting epidemiological surveillance, the MCH Epidemiologist will manage and analyze FCPH program data to identify gaps, assess community impact, and evaluate program effectiveness. They will collaborate with MCH partners inside and outside the agency to inform data-driven strategies. This position focuses on providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers in accordance with the mission, core values, and purposes of Franklin County Public Health.
