About The Position

Please note that this position is contingent upon the successful award of a contract currently under bid. Goldbelt Professional Services specializes in providing expert resources for Public Health missions including scientific, technical, and administrative support from junior staff to high-level subject matter experts. Research and data driven, Goldbelt Professional Services’ experts create solutions customized to the client’s needs. Summary: The Epidemiologist III provides epidemiologic, analytical, and project coordination support for vaccine safety initiatives within the CDC’s Immunization Safety Office. This role consults closely with CDC staff to support multiple studies and projects, including activities related to the Vaccine Safety Datalink (VSD).

Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based public health environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Five (5) or more years of progressively responsible experience supporting epidemiologic research or public health studies.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting epidemiologic studies and analyzing public health or healthcare datasets.

Responsibilities

  • Provide consultation services to CDC staff in project meetings and other vaccine safety activities
  • Consult CDC staff to support various project located in the CDC’s Immunization Safety Office.
  • Provide administrative, organizational, and projects coordination support
  • Prepare conference call agendas, take minutes, and follow-up on action items, as necessary.
  • Facilitate study and manuscript tracking as well as resource tracking (such as chart abstraction) and participates in discussions regarding the multiple studies.
  • Serve as point of contract for participating sites with regards to multiple aspects of the project, including updates on conference calls and meetings, emailing staff (both internal and external), and creates tracking documents for the project.
  • Provide consultation services to CDC staff on project management activities will include a variety of tasks related to research and project coordination.
  • Provide consultation services to CDC staff all activities related the project including conference calls, meetings, IRB submission, and DUA execution
  • Develop reports, tables, and presentations for the project related activities, as needed
  • Track DHQP activities and deliverables
  • Provide consultation services to CDC staff on the development of manuals and operating procedures
  • Provide consultation services to CDC staff with activities for ongoing studies, including data entry, as well as budget planning and meeting planning
  • Provide consultation services to CDC staff in meetings relating to VSD and other vaccine safety activities at least 12 times per year
  • Prepare conference call agendas, take minutes, and follow-up on action items, as necessary. Expected work volume is at least 36 agendas and 36 minutes per year; at least 3 conference calls per month
  • Review and analyze data from the Vaccine Safety Datalink (VSD)
  • Conduct epidemiologic studies.
  • Provide consultation services to CDC staff on responding to public inquiries relating to vaccine safety.
  • Serve as the main point of contact at CDC for the website.
  • Serve as liaison, committee member, or similar point of contact for the VSD annual meeting.
