About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Epoxy Flooring Installer to join our team on an ongoing sub-contractor basis for residential and/or commercial applications in Downtown Chicago, servicing Gold Coast, Old Town, River North, Streeterville, The Loop, West Loop, South Loop, Pilsen, Heart of Chicago, and other satellite neighborhoods. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience installing high-performance epoxy flooring systems, delivering durable, visually appealing, and long-lasting finishes while maintaining the highest standards of workmanship and professionalism.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Epoxy Flooring Installer or similar coatings role, preferably in City of Chicago buildings, high-rises, homes, and commercial spaces.
  • Strong knowledge of epoxy, polyaspartic, polyurethane, and other resinous flooring systems.
  • Experience with surface preparation equipment such as grinders and shot blasters.
  • Ability to read and interpret project specifications and layout plans.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship.
  • Reliable transportation and own tools/equipment preferred.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Physical stamina to handle materials and perform labor-intensive tasks.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; industry certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Epoxy Flooring Installation: Install a variety of epoxy flooring systems including solid color epoxy, flake/broadcast systems, quartz systems, and metallic epoxy in residential and commercial environments.
  • Surface Preparation: Perform proper surface preparation including diamond grinding, shot blasting, moisture testing, crack chasing, patching, and repairs to ensure optimal adhesion and system performance.
  • Mixing & Application: Accurately mix epoxy resins, hardeners, and additives according to manufacturer specifications and apply using appropriate tools such as squeegees, rollers, and trowels.
  • Decorative Finishes: Create consistent and high-quality decorative effects for flake, quartz, and metallic systems when required.
  • Topcoats & Sealers: Apply protective topcoats (polyaspartic, polyurethane, or epoxy) to achieve specified durability, slip resistance, and gloss levels.
  • Quality Assurance: Inspect completed installations to ensure smoothness, uniformity, adhesion, and compliance with project specifications and company quality standards.
  • Maintenance & Repair: Perform repairs, re-coats, and maintenance services for existing epoxy flooring systems as needed.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, including proper handling of chemicals, use of PPE, ventilation requirements, and jobsite cleanliness.
  • Client Interaction: Maintain professional communication with project managers, clients, and site personnel throughout the installation process.
