On our facilities team, your job will be to create a comfortable and safe environment — just like our patients have come to expect. Your efforts with focus on maintaining medical devices and equipment, assisting with equipment development projects and similar tasks. Ultimately, while you may not interact with patients directly, your work will leave a lasting impression on their and their families’ lives. A caregiver in this position works four 10-hour shifts from 6:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. with rotating weekend and holiday requirements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Proficiency in web applications, databases, and spreadsheets
  • One year of hospital medical device logistics/repair experience OR additional experience in Hospital Operations, Logistics or related military training
  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.
  • Ability to be mobile for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to travel throughout the Cleveland Clinic health system.
  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment.
  • Ability to operate emergency equipment.
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
  • Ability to move/transport items weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)
  • Ability to move/transport equipment weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)
  • Ability to move/transport carts weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)
  • Ability to inspect equipment.
  • Ability to install, repair and maintain systems, equipment, fixtures and/or structures.
  • Ability to clean, operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning products.
  • Ability to distinguish color.
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
  • All offers of employment are followed by testing for controlled substances.
  • You will be required to comply with this program, which will include obtaining an influenza vaccination on an annual basis or obtaining an approved exemption.

Responsibilities

  • Perform targets rounding in active patient areas to recover assets for processing and redistribution.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and repair specified medical devices.
  • Assist with and/or leads special projects as designated.
  • Order supplies and ensure adherence to unit/department budget, as needed.
  • Stock patient rooms or deploy supplies for use, as needed.
