About The Position

In this position you will perform various unskilled and semi-skilled tasks to assist in the repair on waterlines, valves, hydrants, and other related components; operates motorized equipment to assist in the repair and maintenance of County water and sewer line systems.

Requirements

• Training and/or work experience in maintenance of water/sewer lines, hydrants, mains and other related components.
• I n operating jackhammer, chain cutters, etc. and maintenance practices.
• must obtain a valid Commercial Driver's License - Class A within six (6) months of employment.
• Works outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Regularly required to perform manual labor such as: lifting, digging, and climbing.
• Works in confined spaces and awkward positions that require bending and twisting.
• operates heavy equipment

Responsibilities

• Operates jackhammers, chain cutters, power drills, hand tools, and other light equipment to assist with unskilled and semi-skilled repair and maintenance of water and sewer lines, hydrants, mains, and related components.
• Operates truck to haul materials and assist with the installation and repair of water/sewer lines, hydrants, and other related components.
• Prepares and submits reports reflecting work performed, materials used, work orders.
• Returns streets, laws, etc. to original condition after completing assigned work projects (e.g., shovels soil, lays seed, patches asphalt, etc.).
• May operate backhoe to load truck or perform other semi-skilled work.
