STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES is the in-house engineering business line of Structural Group. Overview We are seeking a reliable and skilled Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience operating a skid steer and/or mini excavator in construction, landscaping, site prep, or related environments. This role is perfect for someone who takes pride in safe, efficient work and can handle a variety of tasks on active job sites.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating a skid steer and/or mini excavator
- Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus but not required
- Ability to read site plans or follow verbal instructions
- Strong understanding of job‑site safety practices
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
Nice To Haves
- Experience in construction, utilities, landscaping, or excavation
- Ability to operate additional equipment (e.g., backhoe, loader, compactor)
- Mechanical aptitude for minor equipment troubleshooting
Responsibilities
- Operate skid steer and mini excavator for grading, trenching, backfilling, material handling, and general site work
- Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance (fluid checks, greasing, cleaning)
- Load and unload materials as needed
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area
- Assist crew members with ground labor when equipment operation is not required
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure smooth workflow
- Report any equipment issues or hazards promptly
