About The Position

As an Equipment Operator/Maintenance, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient processing of inbound materials, refuse of various forms through Reworld’ s industrial disposal process and maintenance of the equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred
  • A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a heavy industrial/manufacturing environment
  • Heavy equipment operator skills
  • Current valid driver's license required, CDL license is a plus
  • Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb
  • Ability to lift/carry 50lbs
  • Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces
  • Qualify to wear a full-face respirator
  • Consistently work in various weather conditions
  • This position works on an 8-hour shift and must be able to work occasional extended shifts, weekends and some holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and process inbound materials, through the safe operation of various types of industrial equipment, such as: forklift, track hoe, skid steer, vacuum truck, tanker truck, roll-off truck, walking floor trailer, pressure washer, material handling equipment, and various hand tools
  • Receive, weigh, unpack, and label containers, as necessary
  • Safely operate industrial equipment to consolidate dumped refuse on the tipping floor
  • Follow defined industrial and manufacturing good housekeeping practices at all Covanta facilities and within assigned work areas
  • Exterior site maintenance and improvement, as needed, which includes litter collection, painting, snow removal and ice prevention
  • Traffic Control for incoming/outgoing traffic
  • Perform preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance for industrial equipment and machines and keep equipment service records.
  • Repair and replace damaged or worn parts to braking system, engines, fuel system, power train, electrical system and hydraulic system.
  • Repair and replace damaged or worn parts to industrial shredder system, conveyors, and auxiliary systems.
  • Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers’ specifications.
  • Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defects.
  • Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Maintain & update parts inventory list for service/repairs, preventive maintenance and/or corrective maintenance.
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on all facility vehicles and operational equipment to ensure that efficient and safe operations.
  • Operate, adjust, and maintain industrial machinery, using control and regulating devices.
  • Additional duties as assigned to ensure safe and efficient facility operations.
