About The Position

Maintenance Technician will be responsible for providing support for Research and Development teams in the development of Snacks innovation at GPC Plano, maintaining a variety of food processing equipment, research and purchase tools, Facilities related equipment, support all contractor work within the facility. Support Food Safety program (for AIB and FSC22K) and EHS teams on site related audits on Safety, Food Safety and Environmental programs. This Position is for Off Shift Hours and the Tech would be required to work late hours ( 6.00pm to 2.30am , Monday to Friday ) .

Requirements

  • Associate Technical Degree preferred / 3+ Years of working experience in a manufacturing/production environment or in an R&D testing center, preferably in the food industry.
  • Knowledge of low /Medium voltage Electrical circuit troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of industrial 3ph motors and be able to program VFDs.
  • In addition to electrical skills, mechanical, instrumentation Knowledge is required. The following are essential to ensure that equipment is available as required for site operations:
  • Basic Knowledge of AB PLC.
  • Basic knowledge of AB VFD programming, Troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of Different Instrumentation used in Processing and Facilities including air flow switches, pressure switches and thermostats.
  • Able to support process related issues and provide solutions on Maintenance related issues.
  • Able to do minor fabrication /Modifications, and minor installation work.
  • Should have Basic knowledge of MIG welding and Stick Welding and be able to complete emergency and Food safety related welding work as needed..
  • Highly motivated to work with others in a team environment to deliver on the team development objectives with strong desire to provide individual contribution.
  • Basic Knowledge of Servo Motors and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Would be required to Work at the Technology Process Center and support other team members in maintaining a variety of food processing equipment.
  • Support Maintenance team in upkeep of Equipment used in development of Innovative Products at GPC Plano.
  • Troubleshoot all Mechanical and Intermediate Electrical issues with Process and Facilities Equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret Mechanical and Electrical Prints/Schematics to independently troubleshoot related issues.
  • Support Sr.Maintenance team members in maintaining/modifying all Process equipment used in R&D environment as defined by Projects .
  • Good Computer Skills necessary for Communications and parts research (Outlook, IM, Excel ).
  • Ability to navigate through CMMS to retrieve and close Work Orders. Ensure required parts are available for repairs / replacement.
  • Basic knowledge of PLC troubleshooting. (Allen-Bradley prefrerred).
  • Parts ordering and Research.
  • Responsible for conducting Pro-active PM of equipment on site including.
  • Checking Motors, recommending repairs /replacing as needed.
  • Gear boxes and replacing gear oil as needed
  • Lubricating Bearings as needed per the PM program.
  • Inspecting Drive Belts and changing them to avoid failure.
  • Inspect Conveyors and complete repairs as needed.
  • Check Oil pumps and Hydraulic Pumps, repair as needed.
  • PM of Chains and Drive system.
  • PM of Packaging Equipment.
  • PM Baggers, Weighers and other Packaging Equipment.
  • PM Mixers, Ribbon Blenders and other ingredient feeder system.
  • PM Food Grinders and Bag lifters.
  • Support maintenance of all Plant Utility equipment including.
  • Conducting PM of the Steam Generators.
  • PM of Air Compressors and all Pneumatic systems.
  • PM of Chillers units.
  • PM and Maintenance of Water heaters for Sanitation use.
  • Maintenance of Plant Processing /Packaing /Warehouse lighting to keep facility safe.
  • Responsible for site office area upkeep(lights, Faucets,toilet flush, exhaust.
  • Support Maintenance of Lab infra equipment(including vent hoods, air filters, pneumatic systems).
  • Maintain all Warehouse equipment including PIT, Scrubbers, Wrapping units, Scales and Trash compactors.
  • Responsible for upkeep of the Parking lot, site irrigation system and outside lightning.
  • Support site Food safety Programs including ( AIB and FSC22K ), maintain PM program records as required.
  • Participate in Food Safety mandated Audits.
  • Support Food Defense Program (will be part of multiple teams )
  • Prioritize all site Food Safety and EHS related Work and issues to be in compliance.
  • Complete all Training and Certifications as required by the facility for food safety/food defense and corporate mandated.
  • Support safety validation of new equipment .
  • Raise MOC for all equipment being transported to and from the Plant.
  • Conduct Safety Checks on all testing equipment that go between plants.
  • Complete Training on PTW and Issue Permits as needed for all Contractor work in absence of EHS Personnel.
  • Support contractors on site for the upkeep of the Process and Facilities equipment.
  • Support Multiple R&D Pilot Plants in the DFW metroplex area as needed.
  • Work with EHS team members to maintain all environmental, and regulatory compliance goals set for the Plant (will be part of team )
  • Provide training and Mentoring for L2 Maintenance Techs to develop their skill set and knowledge.
