ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provides patient care as assigned and per routine, according to standards of care, shift routines, and policies and procedures. Answers call lights in a timely and appropriate manner Documents care provided according to standards Maintains a clean work and patient environment Maintains supplies, stocking new supplies and disposing of expired or damaged supplies. Processes orders in an accurate and timely manner. Answers the telephone and call lights appropriately and provides information or relays messages to patients and staff. Directs visitors to patient's rooms. Maintains medical records of current patients. Processes patient charges and orders supplies as needed. Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities. Performs 12 Lead EKGs as directed Starts IV as directed Performs venipunctures as directed Assists ED MDs with intubation by gathering needed equipment Performs CPR and places the Lucas on patients during resuscitations Performs splint applications Assist with chest tube insertions by gathering needed supplies equipment Performs BGMs as directed Transports non-monitored patients to the inpatient units Mercyhealth is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
