F5, Inc. seeks Escalation Engineer – Technical in Seattle, WA: Job Duties: Own escalated case resolution for complex technical issues involving F5 BIG-IP platforms, including LTM, GTM, AFM, APM, and ASM modules. Reproduce and debug issues in lab environments involving L2/L3 routing, SSL offloading, iRules, DNS, HTTP/2, and load balancing. Utilize tools such as tcpdump, ssldump, Wireshark, TShark, and F5 qkview for root cause analysis. Provide support and diagnosis for environments using virtualization (VMware, KVM), container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes), and hybrid cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP). Contribute to bug triage, tracking, and analysis, including collaboration with software engineering teams for defect resolution. Develop and share diagnostic scripts using Python, Bash, and REST API for troubleshooting automation. Mentor frontline engineers on troubleshooting methodology, diagnostics best practices, and documentation creation. Document known issues and solutions in internal knowledge bases and public-facing support content. Participate in early-access testing cycles, customer pilot feedback loops, and pre-release validation activities. Telecommuting is an option. Some travel to F5 offices may be required.

Requirements

  • Three (3) years of experience in job offered or in any occupation in a related field.
  • Three (3) years of experience using the following: (1) Networking architecture and protocols; (2) Linux/UNIX; (3) Network protocol analysis tools such as tcpdump, Wireshark, tshark; (4) SSL/TLS Debugging; (5) Public Cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP); (6) Switching/Routing; (7) Virtualization Technologies; (8) HTTP/HTTP2; (9) TCL scripting; (10) Kubernetes; (11) Network Security.
  • Any suitable combination of education, training and experience is acceptable.
