About The Position

The EHS Manager plans, implements, and coordinates safety programs, requiring application of engineering principles and technology, to prevent or correct unsafe environmental working conditions.

Requirements

  • B.S. in a technical discipline (Chemical or Environmental Engineering preferred) with 5-7 years of experience in EHS regulations, ideally including strong familiarity with Texas regulatory and manufacturing requirements preferred.
  • Proven ability to interpret and apply complex EHS laws, standards, and compliance obligations.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence across technical, hourly, and management teams.
  • Strong understanding of industrial manufacturing processes and experience participating in technical reviews of new products and processes for EHS compliance.
  • Ability to effectively represent the organization with regulatory agencies, community stakeholders, and internal site groups.
  • Experience developing EHS strategy and leading teams to achieve performance targets.
  • Strong decision‑making capabilities within a matrixed EHS organization, working closely with the Site Manager and EHS Leadership Team to set priorities and drive site value.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all site EHS functions, including compliance with Texas environmental regulations, air and water permits, RCRA requirements, waste disposal, and site security.
  • Oversee key EHS systems (PSM, DETER, MOC, ESTER, EMI, CoPA, Workday), ensuring accurate reporting, budget compliance, and contractor oversight.
  • Lead all regulatory programs such as RMP, RC14001, ISO 9000/14000, and Life Critical Procedures, including audits, training, and emergency drills.
  • Direct incident management to reduce OSHA recordables and workers’ compensation cases while supporting hazard identification and compliance across all site units.
  • Maintain occupational health programs, including drug testing, physicals, ergonomic assessments, industrial hygiene, and ISO‑related requirements.
  • Determine optimal permit strategies, update EHS policies and procedures, and ensure timely regulatory reporting for air, water, and waste.
  • Drive continuous improvement in EHS performance and represent the site with regulators, community groups, and internal leadership teams.
  • Lead site preparedness efforts, including severe weather planning, security compliance, and facilitation of EHS training across all employee groups.
