About The Position

General Summary Of Duties:
Esthetician position delivers professional, meticulous skin care treatments, body treatments, full-body waxing services and spray tanning to guests while ensuring a comfortable and relaxing spa experience. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policies, practices and procedures, and Nevada law.

Requirements

• Social skills as demonstrated by the ability to effectively deal with internal/external guests, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to diffuse, collect accurate information and resolve problems and concerns.
• Ability to effectively deal with customer complaints and concerns in a friendly and positive manner . This involves listening to the nature of the concern, demonstrating empathy with the customer and providing positive and proactive solutions.
• Ability to effectively deal with internal/external customers, some of whom will require patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger. Collect accurate information and solve management concerns.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language clearly to ascertain and document important information, to follow written and/or verbal instructions and to provide clear direction and guidance. Ability to relate to all levels of management and employees in verbal/written form.
• Listen and respond to guest inquiries using a positive, clear speaking voice. Answer questions and offer assistance giving accurate information regarding outlet hours, other hotel services, directions to local attractions or function rooms, car rentals, airline shuttle service, etc.
• Remain calm and alert, especially during emergency situations and/or heavy hotel activity, serving as a role model for other employees. Resolve complications and complaints by conducting thorough research of the situation and the most effective solutions. Make decisions and take action based on previous experience & judgment, sometimes revising procedures to accommodate unusual situations.
• Sufficient manual dexterity of hand, wrist and arm in order to perform massage.
• Understands that as a representative of the Spa they will maintain a healthy, fit appearance and a positive attitude. Ability to walk/stand and work 100 percent of shift walking a maximum of two miles.
• Check work area before, during and after shift for proper set-up, safety and cleanliness. Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift, bend, stoop, and reach to perform services. Lifting a maximum of 50 pounds to a height of 4 feet on an intermittent basis.
• Ability to maintain attendance in conformance with standards.
• Ability to maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance.
• Minimum 2 years experience, preferably in a resort spa environment.
• Highschool diploma or GED equivalent.
• Completion of a minimum of 900 hours of esthetics training.

Responsibilities

• Provide spa guests with a comfortable and relaxing spa experience while ensuring the utmost safety for our guests.
• Assess guest needs and inquire about contraindications (e.g., medications, allergies, high blood pressure, and pregnancy) before beginning service.
• Maintain the highest level of guest service by providing guests with a broad understanding of current techniques and procedures. Must be qualified and able to perform all treatments offered.
• Ensure uncompromising level of cleanliness of work area and/or treatment room at all times.
• Promote and sell spa/salon services including retail offerings related to the Spa. (Retail sales goals may be required.) Informs facility management of any member, guest, or facility issues.
• Is knowledgeable about the facility, the property and its amenities in order to effectively communicate with guests. Reports any incidents or accidents to a member of the management team.
• Other duties as assigned.
