General Description Provides ethical advice to members of the State Bar of Texas with respect to the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct, and opinions published by the Supreme Court’s Professional Ethics Committee. May serve as a liaison to Supreme Court committees and other State Bar ad hoc committees. This position works with minimal supervision. Primary Functions 1. Provides responses to ethical inquiries from licensed Texas attorneys via the State Bar of Texas’ toll-free Ethics Helpline. 2. Attends quarterly meetings of the Supreme Court’s Professional Ethics Committee. 3. May serve as liaison to the Supreme Court’s Professional Ethics Committee and State Bar ad hoc committees. 4. Other duties and involvement with special projects as may be assigned. Position Requirements Must be a member of the State Bar of Texas in good standing. Three years of legal experience preferred. Requires knowledge of the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct, Texas Rules of Disciplinary Procedure, and Texas Rules of Civil Procedure. Position also requires technological competency; including experience using Microsoft Word, Adobe, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Outlook. Must possess excellent legal analytical and oral communication skills and effectively coordinate workflow.
