About The Position

Position Summary The Evening Tour Guide must have a good sense of fun and desire to entertain while singing and narrating a script of Nashville’s music history. The Evening Tour Guide must extend courtesy and hospitality. The guests should feel glad they have chosen our company to entertain them. Requirements
- Ability to work independently over long periods of time or as part of a team within the scope of established rules and regulations.
- Ability to read, write, and speak clear English in order to communicate with co-workers and the general public
- Ability to learn stage direction and memorize historical details provided in a scripted story and relay scripted story in an entertaining manner.
- Ability to be heard in a loud, audible voice.
- Ability to give the scripted story in time allowed.
- Ability to sing well is a must
- Must pass pre-employment background check and substance abuse testing
- Have a passion for helping people and making their Nashville experience a memorable one.
Nice To Haves
- Strong interest in Nashville’s history is desirable.
- Prior performance or interpretation experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to play guitar preferred, not required
Responsibilities
- Present historically accurate information in an entertaining manner in costume, in a moving trolley and various outdoor weather conditions, several times a work shift, in a loud audible voice with or without amplification to be heard from the front of the trolley to the back of the trolley on sometimes loud busy streets.
- Study and rehearse roles from script to interpret, learn, and memorize lines and cues.
- Read, interpret, and memorize musical compositions and apply your voice and style to create assigned songs in the tour script
- Use props as directed
- Must be mindful of timing to complete the tour in the time allotted.
