Position Summary: The Grange Insurance Audubon Center seeks an energetic and qualified candidate to oversee the efforts of the front desk during weekday/evening events, weekend open hours and special events. This position reports to the Sr. Operations Manager, Ohio Centers and works directly with guests and vendors to ensure a positive experience, that guests are good stewards of the 18,000 sq ft. LEED-Certified building and in promoting our mission and membership. Additionally, this position will have an opportunity to assist with wedding tours and contracts, special projects, and data entry for membership and attendance. This position is scheduled approximately 20-22 hours a week. This position is required to work most weekends and weekdays, both daytime and evening shifts, to cover front desk and/or rental and special events. Evening shift can go as late as 12:30 am. It may also have one to two standard shifts during the work week. These shifts may vary from week to week depending on rental and special events scheduling. This position is classified as on-site based at the Ohio Grange Insurance Audubon Center in Columbus, OH. Compensation: $19.00 - $21.00 / hour

Requirements

High school degree or equivalent
One to three years’ customer service experience: An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
Problem solving, independence and resourcefulness
Ability to multi-task
Basic computer knowledge with POS system, Microsoft products
Effective organizational and communication skills

Responsibilities

Carry out opening and closing tasks for each shift to ensure the building is ready to open to the public (or ready for event) or secured at close
Help other GIAC staff and/or catering staff move entrance tables, furniture, and exhibitions prior to rental setup
Greet and guide vendors and guests during rental set up
Greet and guide visitors when they enter the building and sign them into Ticketure
Ensure that visitor engagement items are restocked
Perform office administrative duties as assigned
Complete data entry for daily attendance in visitor software sys
Monitor and maintain restrooms and general building needs during shift
Keep all AV equipment labeled and inventoried
Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies
Assist caterer with building needs as they arise, with light janitorial duties and light maintenance needs
Assist guests with questions
Administer and complete end of rental check list with the catering staff lead
Clearly communicate end of shift notes with supervisor
Provide feeding care to Grange Insurance Audubon Center animal ambassadors based on approved schedule
Assist in leading facility rental tours and writing facility rental contracts
Maintains and fosters culture of safety.
