Event Marketing Manager

careerMountain View, CA
1d$100,000 - $160,000Hybrid

About The Position

We’re looking for a hands-on Event Marketing Manager to co-own the planning, production, and marketing of AI Dev and other AI developer events. AI Dev is rapidly emerging as one of the most popular AI developer conferences, having sold out with thousands of attendees in SF & NY in its inaugural year. Help shape the future alongside Andrew Ng and other leading voices as we bring the AI community together to showcase the latest innovations, share knowledge and network in person! This is not a “checklist” role. You will own events end-to-end — from concept to execution to post-event wrap — including budget, timeline, speakers, sponsors, and marketing performance. You’ll work closely with both the internal team and external vendors to ensure flawless on-site execution, while also driving the marketing strategy and calendar that fills the room with the right audience. If you love both running events and marketing them, and you’re comfortable operating with a lot of ownership in a fast-moving environment, this role is for you. We prefer candidates based in the San Francisco Bay Area, with the ability to work from our Mountain View, CA office and attend in-person meetings and events as needed. However, exceptional candidates located outside the Bay Area are still encouraged to apply — we are open to remote arrangements for the right person, with travel required for key planning moments and on-site event execution.

Requirements

  • 5–8+ years of experience owning developing - facing events end-to-end (conferences, summits, large community events)
  • Proven experience managing both event production and event marketing
  • Beyond strong execution, we’re looking for someone who brings creative thinking to events and marketing, and cares about making AI Dev feel uplifting, fun, and inspiring for builders.
  • Familiarity with Eventbrite, CRM tools, email platforms, and marketing analytics
  • Strong budget ownership experience
  • Experience working with speakers, sponsors, vendors, and internal stakeholders
  • Comfortable running multiple workstreams simultaneously without dropping details
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized, proactive, and calm under pressure
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with a lot of ownership

Responsibilities

  • Co-own end-to-end execution of AI Dev and other events (1–3K+ attendees), from early planning through post-event recap
  • Manage event timelines, run-of-show, milestones, and dependencies across internal teams and external vendors
  • Own event budgets: forecasting, tracking, reconciliation, and ROI analysis
  • Coordinate closely with the event production lead on venue, vendors, logistics, AV, registration, and on-site operations
  • Ensure a high-quality, polished attendee experience on-site
  • Own the event marketing calendar from announcement through last-call
  • Plan and execute multi-channel event marketing campaigns across email, social, web & partner/sponsor amplification
  • Work closely with marketing and design to produce event assets and copy
  • Track performance metrics (registrations, conversion, attendance, engagement) and iterate
  • Coordinate post-event marketing: recap content, videos, photos, and follow-ups
  • Support speaker strategy and outreach (keynotes, breakout speakers, workshops)
  • Manage speaker communications: invitations, confirmations, logistics, deadlines, and day-of coordination
  • Track speaker pipeline, approvals, and content readiness
  • Support sponsorship execution end-to-end in partnership with the Director: Sponsor deliverables, Deadlines & approvals, On-site activations and logistics
  • Coordinate sponsor marketing assets, sessions, booths, and branding
  • Ensure sponsors receive a high-quality experience and clear ROI
