About The Position

The Event Planner / Sales Support role serves as a key liaison between clients, planners, and the sales team to ensure the successful planning and execution of weddings, social events, and corporate functions. This position combines client-facing event planning responsibilities with administrative and on-site sales support, particularly during peak sales days. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, client-focused, and comfortable supporting sales managers and planners in a fast-paced, high-volume event environment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in event planning, event sales coordination, or banquet operations
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in wedding or event planning
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and priorities simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Familiarity with Caterease, Social Tables, and/or Cvent
  • Customer-focused mindset with a strong commitment to service excellence
  • Ability to work full-time on-site, including weekends
  • High school diploma required
  • Reliable transportation or ability to commute to Somerset, NJ

Nice To Haves

  • Degree or certification in hospitality or event planning a plus

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate directly with clients to plan and finalize event details
  • Create and manage Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), timelines, and floor plans
  • Utilize event management platforms such as Caterease, Social Tables, and/or Cvent to manage event information and layouts
  • Schedule and conduct planning meetings, site tours, tastings, and walkthroughs
  • Collect deposits, issue invoices, and maintain accurate client and financial records
  • Communicate finalized event details clearly to operations, culinary, and AV teams
  • Review and sell event upgrades and enhancements as appropriate
  • Support Sales Managers with administrative tasks, CRM updates, and reporting
  • Provide on-site planning and sales support during peak sales and event days
  • Manage incoming client inquiries and maintain positive, professional relationships
