About The Position

The Event Sales Manager is responsible for generating new event sales revenue and growing existing accounts through proactive, relationship-driven sales of the ballpark and other owned and operated venues. This role markets the venue as a premier destination for corporate, social, and special events, balancing new business development with account management while collaborating closely with internal partners to deliver seamless, memorable guest experiences. Drawing on best practices from leading professional sports organizations, this role blends strategic outbound sales, high-volume inbound inquiry management, and end-to-end client ownership from initial proposal through event execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, hospitality, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in large-scale event sales, hospitality, or venue-based sales with a proven record of meeting or exceeding revenue goals.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify, prospect, and secure new event business through strategic outbound sales efforts and targeted market development.
  • Manage a pipeline of qualified opportunities, consistently meeting or exceeding assigned revenue, retention, and new business goals.
  • Develop and grow relationships with existing clients, demonstrating the ability to expand accounts and drive repeat business.
  • Create, present, and negotiate customized proposals, estimates, and contracts that maximize revenue while aligning with client objectives.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the sales lifecycle, ensuring a professional and consistent experience from inquiry to post-event follow-up.
  • Conduct site tours, client presentations, and outside sales appointments to showcase venue capabilities and event possibilities.
  • Effectively transition confirmed events to operations, catering, and service teams with clear communication of client goals, scope, and event details.
  • Attend and host events as needed to ensure execution aligns with client expectations and organizational standards.
  • Partner with internal teams including Operations, Catering, Marketing, and Analytics to develop innovative event concepts, activations, and sales strategies.
  • Contribute to sales and marketing initiatives such as sales plans, reporting, forecasting, website updates, sales missions, and familiarization tours.
  • Represent the organization at industry trade shows, meetings, and networking events to build relationships and drive new business.
  • Stay informed of market trends, competitive activity, and emerging event formats to identify new revenue opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate, well-organized records of sales activity, bookings, forecasts, and client communications within CRM and event sales systems.
  • Forecast sales performance and prepare regular reports to support business planning and revenue optimization.
