Be a key part of the leadership team driving operational excellence for our newest resort, Canyon Ranch Austin. As Executive Chef, you will oversees the culinary experience, ensuring guests have an exceptional experience by developing a modern and contemporary approach to culinary. The Executive Chef will also be responsible for creating an environment that encourages innovation combined with consistent execution while also addressing the operational and financial needs of the business.

Requirements

  • 2 year degree/certificate in culinary arts is preferred, but not required.
  • 5+ years of management experience in luxury hotel, resort or destination spa.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a diverse environment while maintaining a positive, respectful, productive and compliant work environment in accordance with State and company policies and objectives. Equally important is a passion for food, a creative flair, and a gift for sharing the wonders of cuisine with others.
  • Excellent leadership skills, a strong culinary management background, and a solid track record.
  • Creative palate with a sense of current dining trends as well as experience managing and developing large teams.
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, proper storage and handling procedures is required.

Responsibilities

  • You will develop the annual budget and participate in weekly, monthly and annual financial review to ensure appropriate profitability.
  • Prepare and update policy & procedures as necessary and ensures staff understand and meets established standards.
  • Responsible for supervision of all culinary staff.
  • You will also collaborate with and assist the Food and Beverage Director on designated key initiatives such as: recipe development and execution; development of packaged foods initiative; development of new food-related concepts; represent company in food-related conferences as is necessary.
