Our rapid growth and breadth of accounts translates into exciting opportunities for our people!Job SummaryThe Executive Chef leads all culinary operations at the Obama Presidential Center, overseeing a retail café, restaurant, and a significant high-end catering program. This role sets the culinary vision for a landmark destination that will serve as a lively community hub, economic anchor, and beacon of democracy on the South Side of Chicago. Spanning 19 acres, the campus includes a fruit and vegetable garden, athletic and events facilities, a world-class museum, an auditorium, a Chicago Public Library branch, and additional public spaces welcoming visitors from across the globe.

Requirements

  • High-volume production and high-end catering experience required
  • Proven experience managing food and labor costs
  • Strong leadership skills with a desire to grow within a leading foodservice organization

Nice To Haves

  • Culinary degree preferred
  • 3–5 years of culinary management experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all culinary operations across retail, restaurant, and catering venues
  • Plan, develop, and execute menus that reflect the mission, diversity, and quality expectations of the Center
  • Oversee food safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance across all operations
  • Manage food and labor costs, budgets, and overall financial performance
  • Oversee purchasing, inventory control, and vendor relationships
  • Recruit, train, lead, and develop a high-performing culinary team
  • Execute high-volume production and high-end catering for events and programs
  • Implement new culinary programs in partnership with marketing and culinary leadership
