The purpose of this position is to oversee and manage the University's strategic marketing initiatives and tactical public relations programs.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement the University's institutional marketing and communications efforts ensuring consistent messaging and brand integrity.
Establish and implement short and long term marketing goals, objectives, policies, and procedures for the department and institution; evaluate effectiveness and effect changes required for improvement.
Manage all creative and communication aspects related to the University's image including public relations and communications, social media, graphic design, printed materials, photography, videography, marketing-related web content, campus digital signage, institutional advertising, etc.
Monitor all University Marketing & Communications operations for the purpose of improving service to internal and external constituents.
Act as the main point of contact for the Department of University Marketing & Communications, collaborating with all divisions of the University to create effective outreach programs.
Responsible for overseeing media buys for institutional University advertising efforts.
Act as departmental budget manager processing related expenses and regularly monitoring expenditures.
Oversee the University's social media strategy and messaging across multiple channels.
Proofread and copy edit all materials to be disseminated by the University Marketing & Communications department, as well as materials created by others across campus.
Coordinate any external requests to film on campus.
Ensure all content created and used by the department is ADA compliant.
Represent the department and the institution at various campus and community events and/or meetings and committees.
Establish and maintain a staffing structure to support the marketing efforts of the institution; provide leadership, hire, supervise, and evaluate department staff.
Remain current on marketing and advertising news, trends and practices particularly within higher education and among liberal arts universities.
Identify campus news for use in internal and external communications.
Manage any crisis communication efforts and assist with emergency notifications regarding school closings and delayed openings.
Manage appearances of the University mascot at promotional functions.
Identify, hire and communicate with outside vendors and student employees to complete projects as needed.
Assist other members of the University Advancement staff with special projects, assigned events and activities.
Monitor all media for information about the University and create a monthly media monitoring report for V.P.
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree
5 years of marketing related experience
Driver's License and acceptable driving record
