About The Position

WIS is looking for an experienced Executive Producer to join our management team and lead our dynamic Sunrise newscasts. This is an exciting opportunity to lead our team of award-winning, talented journalists in daily editorial decision-making and content creation. The Sunrise Executive Producer will help guide our news operation through rigorous editorial standards, innovative storytelling, and strategic multiplatform execution. Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years of line-producing experience in a news environment/Preferably 2 years in an Executive Producer or comparable leadership role
  • Excellent news judgment and journalistic integrity
  • Leadership capability to guide producers and reporters in a fast-paced news environment
  • Experience managing newscast rundowns, scripts, and editorial workflows
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment
  • Bachelor's degree in communications or related field

Responsibilities

  • Brand Execution – Responsible for the daily execution of our Your First Alert brand promise and editorial standards
  • Content Leadership – Work closely with the News Director and Assistant News Director to craft daily content decisions across all platforms
  • Editorial Direction – Lead and actively participate in editorial discussions, review rundowns and scripts, develop and amend coverage plans
  • Newscast Excellence – Refine showcasing for our dynamic on-air newscasts and oversee live on-air product during designated hours
  • Breaking News – Act with urgency and immediacy; demonstrate how to be first and best with stories on all platforms
  • Multiplatform Strategy – Collaborate with the Digital Content Manager and news leadership to execute an effective content strategy across web, apps, social media, and multiple dayparts
  • Team Leadership – Keep producers engaged and enriched through consistent, constructive conversations and training
  • Operations Management – Manage producer schedules and show assignments
  • Quality Control – Oversee consistent creation of urgent, nimble, and local multiplatform content through strong leadership and accountability
  • Special Projects – Collaborate on special projects and major event coverage
  • Production Support – Produce newscasts as needed (fill-in capacity)
