About The Position

We are seeking a Design Production Lead to join the OpenAI production team. This role is a design leader responsible for high-volume, systems-led creative execution across multiple design verticals including the Brand Identity, Branded Content, Motion Design and Event Design across multiple business functions, Brand and Product Marketing, Communications, Product Design/Development and Enterprise.

This role requires experience in building and leading a creative agency and design studio model of production design with strong focus on translating brand strategy and design systems into scalable, repeatable outputs across channels and markets. Experience demonstrating organizational builds, systems thinking, high-volume execution, and brand-led production work is required.
You will play a critical role leading and scaling a centralized production design capability that enables OpenAI to move quickly, operate efficiently, and maintain high craft and brand consistency at scale. You will partner closely with cross functional partners and external agencies to ensure work is executed with clarity, craft, and operational rigor.

Requirements

• 10 years+ of experience in full end-to-end design systems production, including brand identity, marketing and advertising design assets, branded content and presentation designs, partnership design, motion and animation, event and spatial design. Prior experience at both vendor/agencies and in-house marketing teams is a plus.
• Proven Success Managing and producing full brand identity systems: Demonstrated ability to lead brand design from briefing and brand design exploration, through production across all surfaces and deliverables, including motion. Strong understanding of design production.
• Expertise Across Design systems, full design packages, through toolkits for scale.
• Strong Project Management Skills: Track record of managing multiple priorities, meeting deadlines, and driving results with a data-driven approach using analytics tools to inform strategy.
• Excellent Communication and Influence: Ability to collaborate across disciplines and present to executive audiences; adept at tailoring messaging for diverse audiences.
• Agility and Adaptability: Comfort working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and ability to pivot strategies based on evolving market needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead Design Production Strategy: Work closely with Strategy, Business, Product, and Operations teams to develop and execute design systems and toolkits that align with business objectives
• Drive Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with teams across Product, Product Marketing, Business Marketing, Communications, Global Affairs, and Creative to ensure cohesive and impactful execution
• Manage End-to-End Design Production: Own the planning, execution, and post-launch analysis of design systems — from brief and conceptual development through launch and optimization.
• Establish Production Processes: Build scalable processes and best practices that ensure seamless execution of brand assets globally.
• Incorporate and track all Localization & Adaptation needs across design: Develop a scalable approach to localizing content, messaging, and creative assets to drive cultural relevance and effectiveness in global markets.
• Vendor and Budget Management: Identify, onboard, and manage production vendors and agencies while maintaining strong budget stewardship.
