About The Position

Executive Protection Specialist Description - The Executive Protection Specialist is responsible for physical security, risk identification and mitigation for HP Inc. Reporting to the Director of Executive Protection, the candidate will coordinate executive protection efforts at HP Inc. Headquarters in Palo Alto and within the Bay Area while working closely with site and regional teams for planning and execution. It’s vital to have wide-ranging knowledge on relevant subject matters including residential security, protective intelligence, surveillance technologies, theories, and techniques. A successful candidate must have exceptional written and oral communications skills, take initiative, be a fast learner, and be a highly motivated user of digital tools to accomplish objectives. The Executive Protection Specialist will assist in managing large events, cross-division functional teams or projects that affect the organization's long-term goals and objectives.

Requirements

First-level university degree in Criminal Justice, Security, Law Enforcement or a related field of study, or equivalent experience
7+ years security experience, including associations in law enforcement, military, intelligence and/or corporate experience. Must include small detail, event security, office security, and residential security
Possesses EP training and experience in the following specialties: team member, detail leader, primary and secondary vehicle driver (including armored vehicles), medical (First Aid, CPR, AED), vulnerability assessments, and protective intelligence
Eligible to obtain a Federal Air Marshal Service Armed Security Officer (ASO) certification
Operational understanding and fluent usage of today’s technology tools across all platforms (PC, tablet, smartphone-smartwatch, radio, satellite, tracking device, etc.)
Must maintain up-to-date driver’s license
Valid, current passport
Ability to interact with senior management
Be a poised leader and collaborator who gains support from all levels of the organization, including senior executives
Excellent follow-up skills with attention to detail and ability to multi-task, have leadership presence, strong team-orientation and interpersonal skills, flexibility, and strong analytical skills

Experience managing security details in domestic and international locations, both low and high risk
Federal Government experience and accreditations
10+ years of corporate experience and accreditations

Proven "customer service" and relationship management skills
Excellent project management skills, including planning, execution, and implementation.
Abreast of industry and technology changes to ensure security programs minimize emerging risks. Established range of professional contacts. Familiar with the range of professional security literature
Practical knowledge of the current security environment in multiple geographies

Responsibilities

Provides close protection of executive members including developing, assessing, and implementing protection strategies and plans
Provides guidance and interpretation about security standards, practices, and programs to support regional and global business and security initiatives
Assesses security exposures and assists with implementing programs to address them, influencing stakeholders as required
Partakes in continuous Executive Protection training
Maintains liaison with government, industry, and intelligence professionals Occasionally brief Executives on geopolitical developments, incidents and trends that could affect HP’s business and personnel
Routinely coordinates with HP Inc. Headquarters site security and Executive Protection Operations
Responds to security emergencies
Full-time in office with occasional nights and weekends
Occasional travel up to 20% in support of key stakeholders
