The Exercise Physiologist-Cardiac Rehab is responsible for assisting with the cardiac exercise therapy sessions in consultation with the director of cardiopulmonary services.
Requirements
BS in Exercise Science or related field with a minimum of two years working with cardiopulmonary rehab program are required.
Must possess knowledge of cardiac anatomy/physiology.
Proficient in the concept of wellness that includes exercise, nutrition, and stress management.
Must possess physical abilities to endure prolonged standing, climbing, bending, and capable of carrying, pushing, pulling and/or lifting a variety of material, exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Must be able to complete work assignments with proper precautions in hot and cold environments.
Accountable for developing exercise prescriptions.
Accountable for conducting body fat % measurements and EKG’s.
Accountable to possess knowledge in telemetry monitoring
Accountable to possess and maintain up-to-date knowledge of exercise equipment.
Accountable for conducting patient assessments.
Nice To Haves
ACSM Exercise Test Technologist or Exercise Specialist preferred.
BLS/ACLS Certification required.
Responsibilities
Assists the director in the implementation of services provided to the patients.
Develops exercise prescriptions for all outpatients.
Converses with the director in updating the exercise prescriptions.
Provides leadership during exercise sessions.
Assists with the overall assessments of the inpatient and outpatients.
Assists with inpatient and outpatient education.
Assists with conducting wellness programs.
Maintains patient records on a regular basis.
Attend in-service education programs as needed.
Assists with the implementation and organization of programs and events.
Conducts patient follow-up assessments and reports.
