The Power Systems West team provides generator, air compression, and engine solutions for life’s power needs. Offering quality brands like KOHLER®/Rehlko, Atlas Copco, and Honda. our experts provide solutions for data centers, water & sewer districts, healthcare facilities, utilities, military bases, hi-rise buildings, hi-tech, bio-tech, pharmaceutical, government, airports, retail, manufacturing, casinos, and residences. Our Power Generation Technicians repair and maintain industrial and residential generators. Our Technicians perform regularly scheduled maintenance, diagnostic procedures, and repairs at our customer locations or in company shops. We offer manufacturer level training opportunities and support professional growth for our technicians, including compensation based on experience level. This is a non-exempt, hourly position which is eligible for overtime pay. Work hours are normally 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Technicians may occasionally be required to work after standard business hours and/or during the weekend to meet customer needs. Technicians can expect to be placed on the on-call rotation schedule and will receive compensation for being on-call and for work on after hours service calls. Requirements

  • High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Engine and mechanical system knowledge is required
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to meet deadlines and make critical decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Experience driving in adverse weather conditions to perform job functions and experience towing and backing trailers
  • Ability to maintain a driving record capable of maintaining a Class C license; Class A or B license is a plus, but not required
  • Willing to travel, sometimes over night or for week-long factory training
  • Computer literate in MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Flexible team player

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of generator control systems is a plus, but not required
  • Class A or B license is a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to all PSW customers
  • Perform regularly scheduled maintenance and diagnostic procedures on generators of all sizes
  • Perform load bank testing
  • Perform generator preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs
  • Document all tests and findings from 85-point inspections to provide feedback to customers
  • Perform engine repairs and conduct electrical troubleshooting; diagnose and assess electrical problems using electrical schematics
  • Assist other technicians, train junior team members or learn from more experienced technicians
  • Gather and present information to customers on work performed and/or needed repairs
  • Provide end user training, as necessary, on how to operate equipment
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable safety and environmental policies and procedures
