Enter WSP is currently initiating a search for a POWER Testing and Energization (PTE) Experienced P&C Field Services Technician based in Wisconsin or Minnesota. Successful applicants will be involved in projects with our PTE Team and be a part of a growing organization that is solving problems and supporting client needs in electrical testing and commissioning in utility substations, industrial, and bulk electrical power systems. This Opportunity Supports a wide range of testing and commissioning activities through application of client testing standards, industry standards (IEEE, NETA, NFPA, NESC), and manufacturer recommendations Works under limited supervision, independently executing moderately complex assignments, and contributing to regulatory compliance, safety adherence, and data integrity across active job sites Provides day-to-day support to field teams, helps resolve challenges on-site, and mentors junior technicians to promote quality, efficiency, and safe work practices As one of the world’s leading professional services firms, WSP now brings world-class expertise in power delivery, power generation, and project management with the recent acquisition of POWER Engineers, Inc. Your Impact Perform assigned testing and commissioning tasks for Protection and Control systems on high voltage substations Perform on-site hands-on protective relay testing using relay test sets such as Omicron CMC 256/356 or Doble F6150. Examples of relays to be tested are SEL-311L, SEL-387, SEL-487, SEL-421, SEL-351S, GE L90, GE D60 among others Use field forms, digital data tools, and mobile applications to document site activities Perform equipment cleaning, inventory control, and calibration as directed Support the Project Lead or Field Supervisor on projects Escalate complex technical problems or unexpected field conditions to the site lead or project manager Participate in daily safety briefings and ensure compliance with health and safety protocols Communicate progress, field observations, and potential delays to the project team May review the work of less experienced technicians for quality and accuracy, providing informal guidance as needed Maintain attention to detail when filling out logs, photo documentation, and label entries Collaborate with other technicians to maintain workflow, safety, and quality standards Assist in monitoring subcontractor performance and activities and report observations to field leadership Perform clerical responsibilities such as timecards, expense reports, and project reports Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs
