About The Position

In collaboration with the program director, the Experiential Education Program Specialist coordinates the process of matching students with hands on learning opportunities at pharmacies while also maintaining the accuracy and integrity of all related student, pharmacist, and clinical rotation data. Day to day work will include: communicating updates and deadlines with students and pharmacy sites, preparing reports, collecting and storing confidential information, providing customer service to students, faculty, and pharmacists, and working to improve workflows and processes. The UW–Madison School of Pharmacy’s Experiential Education Program oversees the hands-on training that prepares students for real world pharmacy practice. The department coordinates both introductory and advanced practice experiences, partners with pharmacist mentors across diverse healthcare settings, and ensures students apply classroom knowledge in authentic patient care environments. Through its extensive network of preceptors, innovative practice sites, and commitment to patient centered learning, the Experiential Education Program plays a key role in sustaining the school’s reputation as one of the top pharmacy programs in the country and in shaping practice ready pharmacists equipped to meet evolving healthcare needs.

  • Familiarity with the Windows environment

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates program components and evaluates program effectiveness and provides recommendations for improvement
  • May supervise the day to day activities of one or more academic programs and resolves issues exercising discretion to meet unit goals.
  • Coordinates and maintains partnerships with pharmacy sites to ensure compliance with accreditation requirements.
  • Utilizes independent judgement regarding development, implementation, promotion, and evaluation for one or more academic programs, initiatives, or events
  • Identifies program, needs, contributes to the development of unit workflows, schedules logistics and secures resources for meetings, events, and interviews
