Expert GIS Database Administrator
About The Position
Develop, implement, and maintain enterprise geospatial databases supporting GIS architecture. Optimize performance/capacity, plan expansions, and enable mission GEOINT workflows across OGC-compliant environments. Engineer database strategies for enterprise GIS (SQL Server/PostgreSQL). Monitor/tune performance, capacity, reliability, and availability. Support deployment/admin of GIS server equipment and associated data stores/services. Manage static and streaming geospatial datasets; ensure data integrity and continuity. Produce documentation and provide technical guidance; support shifts/deployments as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum eight (8) years progressive experience improving/maintaining Microsoft SQL and/or PostgreSQL databases.
- Experience with performance tuning, capacity planning, and enterprise database strategies.
- Familiarity supporting GIS architectures and OGC-compliant applications/data services.
- Strong written/oral communication; able to lead technical tasks and guide others as needed.
- Active TS/SCI required prior to start; must maintain required accesses.
- Must obtain/maintain applicable DoD 8570.01 baseline certification (per role requirements).
