About The Position

Export Compliance Systems Engineer Company: The Boeing Company Boeing is seeking an Export Control Systems Engineer to join a new team representing Boeing Space, Intelligence, Weapons Systems and Phantom Works (SIWS + PW) for BDS. This Engineer will be part of the new BDS Export, Integration & Compliance (EI&C) Team under the Engineering Function. The primarily location for the position will be Seal Beach, CA – with additional job locations as possible sites for candidates to work out of: Arlington, VA; El Segundo, CA; Hazelwood, MO; Huntington Beach, CA; Huntsville, AL; Saint Charles, MO; or Saint Louis, MO. Responsibilities include understanding equipment specifications that meet customer requirements, analyzing solutions Boeing creates for ongoing operation of products, and applying engineering principles to the design of airplane manufacturing tools to understand how they operate. This information is used to accurately apply the U.S. Export classification of Boeing Products within the structure of United States Export Control Lists including the United States Munitions List (USML) from the Department of State and Commerce Control List (CCL) from the Department of Commerce. The successful candidate will work to cultivate a network of Engineers who understand their product and the US Export Control Classification associated to their product. Leading this network, the individual will design and develop solutions and tools to help any engineer within the SIWS + PW network to successfully classify their products. Positions within this job group require educational credentials meeting the classification standards for engineers. (JAG-United States of America).

Requirements

  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Engineering Technology), Computer Science, Engineering Data Science, Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry (e.g. Bachelor), and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience navigating and applying aerospace regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance post-start is required.
  • This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Responsibilities

  • Classification experience with the United States Munitions List (USML) under the Department of State (DoS) in the USG
  • Classification experience with the Commerce Control List (CCL) under the Department of Commerce (DoC) in the USG
  • Engineering expertise to be able to identify the control parameters under the USML and CCL and how they relate to a Boeing Product.
  • Knowledge of Boeing’s products within the Space Intelligence Weapons Systems and Phantom Works Division
  • Ability to build a network of other Engineering People to support Non-US work associated with Space, Intelligence, Weapons Systems and Phantom Works
