About The Position

Position is located in Stark County, Louisville, Ohio. The Extension Educators Coordinator 2 should be familiar with and connected to the community, possessing an understanding of its infrastructure and culture. This position is based in Louisville, Ohio, with primary responsibilities in Stark County and surrounding counties as needed.The individual will deliver education on food and nutrition-related topics, including physical activity, food safety, food resource management, budget-friendly food shopping, food preparation, and food security. Training will be provided. Classes will use standardized curriculum materials aligned with the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. Seventy-five percent (75%) of programming will serve traditional EFNEP audiences, including low-income individuals who are primary caregivers (parents or grandparents raising grandchildren) of children from conception through 18 years of age, young adults up to age 26, and youth in grades K-12. The remaining twenty-five percent (25%) will serve populations outside EFNEP’s targeted audience such as, senior citizens, single adults over the age of 26, and preschoolers. Responsibilities include recruiting participants, networking with agency representatives, and collaborating with community partners. Instruction will take place in group settings at a variety of locations, such as homeless shelters, job training programs, pregnant and parenting teen programs, schools, after-school programs, summer food sites, and community centers. In addition, the Program Assistant will provide participants with information about the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and other USDA nutrition assistance programs. Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 1 year of relevant experience required.
