About The Position

The Facilities Assistant (Mobile Medical Coach Backup Driver) is primarily responsible for day-to-day facilities maintenance, repairs, and operational support across Harmony Healthcare Long Island sites. In addition to core Facilities duties, this role will serve as a designated backup driver for the Medical Mobile Coach when the primary driver is unavailable or additional coverage is required. Mobile Coach driving is not the primary function of this role, but candidates must be qualified and willing to safely operate the vehicle as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Flexibility over working hours is essential for this role
  • A willingness to change with the company requirements, and a desire to continually improve the services and facilities on offer
  • Knowledge in using a computer and reports where interpretation is required
  • 3+ years of maintenance, facilities, or handy-work experience
  • Requires a hands-on, self-starter that has a clear aptitude for the systems, mechanics, and structural components of commercial buildings, infrastructure, and maintenance, including such as utilities HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems
  • Multi-task oriented, ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be open to Travel 30%
  • Must be available on an on-call 24-7 basis to promptly resolve urgent needs of facilities at existing restaurants
  • Organization skills, attention to detail
  • Good verbal, writing, planning and evaluation skills required.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills; while maintaining professionalism, tact. 
  • • Must possess a valid NYS Class B CDL driver’s license with no more than one moving violation in the last 24 months

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for day-to-day facility maintenance & cleaning
  • Responsible for the maintenance of structural surfaces
  • Assist with general maintenance, to include painting and other light construction duties
  • Participates in installation and maintenance of furnishings as directed
  • Responsible for various building projects as directed
  • Participates in any reconstruction or renovation as directed
  • Assist Fire and Safety program as directed
  • Arrange for meeting setup and refreshments as needed
  • Monitor all work order requests logged through Track-it and ensure that appropriate action is taken within agreed timescales to ensure a high level of patient satisfaction
  • Manage complaints received by Health Center to ensure that the Company's credibility with the customer is managed and where possible enhanced
  • Carry out other projects and/or duties that may be assigned from time to time
  • When needed, may help set up and wrap special events 
  • May be required to run various errands within the health center radius
  • Support facilities projects on a regular basis

  • Responsible for building systems and safety equipment to ensure optimal operation and performance.
  • Participate in client meetings/conference calls as needed.
  • Performs occasional hands-on maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment. (Electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, and landscaping. Assist with HVAC system and HVAC computer.)
  • Provide input and feedback on future equipment selection, infrastructure allocation and performance standards.
  • Collect data and produce routine reports and follow-up measures related to project operations.
  • Identify specialty vendors and contractor for the service, maintenance and upgrades to equipment as needed.
  • Maintain accurate trackers and logs for vendor interactions
  • Develop and execute preventive maintenance plans, spare parts, and operator’s manuals for facilities and equipment.
  • Actively recommends and participates in continuous improvement and quality activities to assure the facility and equipment meets performance standards.
  • Groundskeeping: Supervising the grounds, maintaining a clean, well-kept appearance, and performing janitorial duties.
  • Serve as a backup driver for the Medical Mobile Coach, a 40-foot mobile healthcare unit.
  • Safely operate the Mobile Coach to scheduled outreach locations when coverage is needed.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and complete required vehicle logs.
  • Report any mechanical, safety, or facility-related issues to Facilities Management promptly.
  • Assist with basic cleaning and sanitation of the mobile unit after use.
  • Transport supplies or equipment to and from the Mobile Coach as needed.
  • Support outreach and community health events associated with Mobile Medical Coach operations when assigned.
