About The Position

The Facilities Team is part of the larger Campus Services organization and plays a critical role in creating a world- class work environment for employees and guests. This team takes pride in being genuinely helpful, responsive, and detail oriented while supporting daily operations across 27 buildings on two Patagonia campuses in Ventura, CA. This role is a skilled, hands-on position responsible for maintaining both the employee experience and the physical campus environment. Work ranges from essential daily support and event setup to advanced preventative maintenance, emergency repairs, and coordination with subcontractors. Successful Facilities team members are adaptable, self-motivated, safety focused, and aligned with Patagonia’s mission to save our home planet.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in general facilities maintenance and/or construction with emphasis in painting, plumbing, electrical, drywall repair or HVAC.
  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills with the ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and the public.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, project management, and time management skills.

  • Ability to act quickly and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
  • Comfortable working independently, multitasking, and prioritizing business needs.
  • Working knowledge of computers, mobile devices, email, Microsoft Office, and CRM tools such as Zendesk.
  • Strong customer service skills in person, over the phone, and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to streamline processes, troubleshoot issues, and improve workflows.
  • Ability to observe and respond to employee needs or emergencies indoors and outdoors.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds from floor to waist height.
  • Ability to carry up to 40 pounds for distances up to 100 feet.
  • Ability to push carts or dollies weighing up to 100 pounds for up to 100 feet.
  • Ability to walk, run, kneel, and stand for extended periods as required by the role.
  • Ability to safely use power tools.
  • Ability to maintain a composed and professional demeanor in a flexible and occasionally noisy work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with employees using strong people skills to understand needs and work toward effective solutions.
  • Proactively identify maintenance needs and improvement opportunities using keen attention to detail.
  • Perform daily facilities support tasks including stocking office and janitorial supplies, event setup, and moving furniture and equipment.
  • Complete essential janitorial and facility tasks such as cleaning spills, wiping tables, replacing light bulbs, and repairing bathroom fixtures.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot emergency repairs.
  • Complete technical projects and share expertise with teammates to foster a learning environment, including: Plumbing Electrical HVAC Painting and Drywall Repair Door and gate maintenance
  • Professionally communicate with and manage subcontractors performing on campus work.
  • Maintain a strong focus on safety and consistently produce high quality work.
  • Foster positive working relationships across Campus Services teams.
  • Provide excellent customer service to employees, vendors, and contractors.
  • Maintain open communication, cooperation, and a positive work environment.
  • Keep building maintenance and employee experience top of mind at all times.
