About The Position

The Facilities Coordinator supports the daily operations of facilities management while fostering a culture of respect, professionalism, and service excellence. This role emphasizes strong interpersonal skills, collaborative leadership, and a commitment to maintaining a safe, functional, and welcoming work environment. The Facilities Coordinator is responsible for the building and property maintenance repairs and grounds at the Bus Operations and Maintenance Facility, and other GoTriangle facilities. The Facilities Coordinator will assist with construction projects and manage repairs to existing buildings, equipment, and bus stop infrastructure. The Facility Coordinator will also manage the work of vendors and subcontractors working at park and rides, bus stops, the Regional Transit Center, the Raleigh Union Station Bus Facility, and the Plaza Building.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED equivalent.
  • Some college coursework in facilities management, business administration, construction management, or a related field preferred.
  • Candidates must have the ability to obtain an associate's degree if not already completed.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience as a facilities technician or equivalent to include experience in building construction or maintenance
  • Must be able to work independently and as a team
  • Must be able to report to work during adverse weather conditions.
  • Must be able to work on rooftop jobs
  • Must posses and maintain a valid drivers license, as travel to other Go Triangle properties is required to perform site inspections.
  • Strong analytical/diagnostic skills
  • Proficiency with computers is necessary
  • Continuously upgrade industry knowledge and technical skills
  • Remain fully knowledgeable of and maintains OSHA compliance with all safety rules and regulations.
  • Ensure proper safety tools and equipment are used at all times and reports safety hazards and/or violations.
  • Must maintai a valid North Carolina State Driver's License to operate company vehicles and perform required site visits, inspections, and property-related duties.
  • An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the above stated minimums excluding High School Diploma, GED, Licenses, or Certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Enforce contract and service agreements for facility and equipment repairs.
  • Support the Director of Real Estate and Facilities Manager in acquisitions, management and maintenance of buildings, properties and grounds.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for facility-related inquiries, ensuring timely, professional, and respectful communication with employees, vendors, and leadership.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal departments, contractors, and service providers.
  • Actively listen to employee concerns and respond with empathy, fairness, and solution-oriented thinking.
  • Facilitate clear communication between facilities staff, management, and external partners.
  • Maintain the Facility Contingency Plan.
  • Create a checklist for the scheduled services and maintenance for all building and equipment.
  • Ensure that all GoTriangle buildings offer employees a clean and safe workplace.
  • Collaborate with other members within Capital Development on site assessments, safety inspections, and property management.
  • Assist project managers on new construction or renovations for GoTriangle as directed by the Facilities Manager
  • Must be hands-on with considerable knowledge and use of power equipment and hand tools
  • Ability to observe, develop and implement maintenance schedule to address potential problems in a cost effective manner
  • Oversee work of outside contractors, remote crews, ground and water inspectors
  • Record all facility emergencies and develop relationship with outside emergency agencies
  • Maintain the Manufacturers Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) program
  • Maintain the Lock-Out, Tag-Out program
  • Keep tool shed, trash areas, workshop, and construction areas clean and orderly
  • Maintain a complete inventory of equipment, tools, supplies, and furnishings
  • Document repairs and maintenance through the automated work order system
  • Be on call in case of emergency and be part of the facility safety notification plan.
  • Complete repairs and services to meet city and state requirements
  • Train and qualify employees in the safe use of tools and shop equipment
  • Ability to manage staff as Facilities Team grows
  • Other duties as required
