About The Position

The Upper Valley Haven offers shelter, housing, food, and support to people in need. We aim to create safe, welcoming spaces that reflect our mission and values. We’re seeking a dependable, detail-oriented team member to help maintain cleanliness and safety across our campus. This role is essential to supporting a space where guests, staff, volunteers, and visitors feel respected and cared for. This is a full-time (40 hour/week) position. Schedule: Monday-Friday 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM Pay: $22.00/hour Our benefits package includes employer-paid contribution up to 100% of healthcare premiums (medical, dental, vision), paid holidays, over 5 weeks of paid time off, life insurance, and a matching 403(b) retirement plan. Requirements

• Proven reliability and punctuality
• Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and safe use of cleaning products
• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining clean, orderly spaces
• Self-directed and able to work independently, while knowing when to ask for support
• Adaptable in a dynamic environment
• Comfortable interacting with people with a wide range of abilities and backgrounds
• Able to lift 40 pounds and remain on your feet/move about for extended periods
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Two years of janitorial/custodial experience required

Responsibilities

• Performs routine custodial work ; sweeping, mopping, dusting, sanitizing restrooms, emptying trash and maintaining common areas
• Performs periodic deep cleaning tasks such as steam-cleaning rugs and offices
• Support year-round outdoor upkeep as needed (trash collection, light grounds cleanup, shoveling/sanding)
• Manage and track inventory of cleaning supplies
• Support the Maintenance Coordinator as needed
• Notify managers regarding repair needs or issues with building systems
• Other relevant duties as assigned
