About The Position

The Facilities Custodian plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of buildings. The position is responsible for cleaning assigned areas, identifying and addressing maintenance concerns, and responding promptly and professionally to requests from team members.

Requirements

Completion of 9th grade. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219.
1+ years of experience in an administrative or office support role.
Must have a minimum one year of experience and/or training in custodial work.
Must have knowledge of cleaning implements and use of hand tools.
Demonstrated capabilities in interpersonal skills, memory, attention to detail, calculation, reading, evaluating, comprehension, and organizing.
Must be able to communicate effectively.
Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Must be able to work independently and be a team player.
Adaptable to work assignments and flexible for urgent trade requirements.
Must pass Level II background checks
Must pass the Bloodborne Pathogen Training
Must use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed to perform specific tasks

Responsibilities

Keep office buildings and properties in a clean and orderly condition.
Empty trash receptacles, dispose trash into dumpster and bag trash for proper disposal including hazardous waste.
Sweep, vacuum and mop floors on a consistent scheduled basis.
Wash and sanitize toilets and sinks and restock disposables.
Dust and disinfect all surfaces including kitchen and break room areas.
Maintain inventory, ordering and restocking cleaning and paper supplies as needed.
Work with groundskeeping service ensuring outdoor grounds maintenance and mowing services are being performed.
Work with pest control service ensuring the application of the interior and exterior of offices are properly being addressed, treated and monitored.
Handle light facility repairs and maintenance as needed.
Report needs and concerns including needed maintenance and repairs to buildings and outdoor areas to Director of Operations
Must adhere and follow all OSHA and Bloodborne Pathogen standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
