Learn more at www.Crothall.com.Job SummaryPerforms the day-to-day operation, repair, installation, maintenance, replacement and testing of electrical circuits, equipment and appliances to maintain primary supply of electrical power for hospital facilities. This is a first shift 7am to 3:30pm M-F schedule.

Requirements

  • Work requires one to three months' on-the-job orientation to acquire vital familiarity with department policies and procedures.
  • Ability to move objects weighing up to sixty pounds.
  • Requires ability to use tools as required by duties and visual acuity to differentiate color-coded wires.
  • Two years of trade school and or “on the job” related experience
  • Two years’ experience as an Electrician or Technician in a similar sized institution
  • Minimum one year Medium Voltage experience
  • High school diploma required

Nice To Haves

  • NETA or NICET qualification (Level 2 and higher) preferred but not required.
  • Trade school experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Inspects, Monitors, and operates Medium Voltage (13.8kV-13.2kV) and Low Voltage Power Distribution systems (277/480VAC)
  • Switches, Isolates and Grounds (as needed) restores power as directed and to accurate localized outages
  • Supports Emergency Generator Operations in support of Emergency Power requirements and Utility outages
  • Repairs, maintains, and installs electrical systems and equipment (MV Switches, Power Transformers, Circuit Breakers (MV/LV, DO, BI), Motors, Network Protectors, VFDs, MV Cable, Switchboards, Switchgear and power systems as advised
  • Maintains records of all installations, alterations and repairs made during each calendar month and updates One-line and Red-line facility drawings as needed
  • Assists in developing and installing Emergency Re-powering circuits needed and as advised to maintain critical patient care power circuits
  • Requires ability to read and interpret Blueprints, One-line, Control Schematic and Wiring Diagrams
  • Ability and skills for trouble shooting and repairing AC and DC circuits, Control Power Systems and Control circuits
  • Proficiency in use of electrical diagnostic tools (ammeter, voltmeter, ohmmeter, circuit tracer, cable locator, insulation tester [“Megger®”])
  • Performs maintenance testing and inspections on assigned Normal, Emergency, Critical and Life Safety circuits, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), Distribution Panels, Switchboards, and Switch Gear, performs routine maintenance as assigned
  • Records tasks performed, materials used, updates control and power wiring diagrams (as needed), test value results and time applied, per assignment for supervisor’s review
  • Installs and recovers recording meters and assists in engineering study data collection and system monitoring for various study and reliability projects.
