Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • HVAC Trade School certification
  • HVAC Certification with EPA Universal (Section 608) Card
  • Ability to meet requirements for a Government Personal Security Clearance
  • 2–3 years of HVAC maintenance, service, or installation experience in an industrial or light commercial environment
  • HVAC light commercial systems
  • Boilers, chillers, heat pumps
  • Electrical systems (single-phase & three-phase)
  • Brazing, soldering, and leak detection
  • Air compressors, pumps, cooling towers
  • Exhaust fans, smoke detectors, water coolers

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, repair, and install HVAC systems, including air handlers, exhaust fans, humidification equipment, pumps, compressors, chillers, boilers, heat pumps, and cooling towers
  • Respond to mechanical and HVAC breakdowns supporting production/process lines
  • Perform electrical work from 24V to 480V, single-phase and three-phase (interior/exterior lighting, photocells, basic electrical installs)
  • Maintain air compressors, nitrogen lines, piping systems, and water pumps
  • Manage air filter and air compressor preventive maintenance schedules
  • Maintain IT server room air conditioning systems
  • Support NFPA fire riser testing, maintenance, and repairs, reporting deficiencies to Maintenance leadership
  • Maintain parts inventory (HVAC components, motors, filters, oils, etc.)
  • Perform building and grounds maintenance including roofing, pavement, landscaping, carpentry, drywall, painting, and plumbing equipment repairs
  • Adjust, lubricate, set up, and calibrate equipment for proper operating characteristics
  • Conduct periodic inspections to identify required maintenance or corrective actions
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and simple machine tools (drill press, saws, etc.)
  • Operate forklift or tractor as needed
  • Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures (in-house training provided)
  • Perform housekeeping and 5S in maintenance and plant areas
  • Support general facility needs as assigned (grounds work, basic custodial support, restroom supply assistance)
