This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations. We are in search of a Facilities Maintenance Planner to support our remote Florida facilities. The Facilities team is chartered with evaluating customer requirements, effectively planning the space, supporting occupation and maintaining the current industrial and office spaces. As part of a hardworking team of specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will play a key role in coordinating facilities maintenance and vendor work. This position is crucial to ensuring seamless operations around mission-critical events, driving our commitment to safe and repeatable space flight forward. Your collaboration will be crucial to ensuring operational excellence in the construction, setup, maintenance, and handling of the facility and equipment. This role demands hands-on high technical expertise, leadership, and organizational skills to match our rapid design, analysis, and integration pace.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of hand-on experience maintaining facilities in a complex industrial infrastructure.
  • Working knowledge of building envelop, BMS, HVAC, fire life safety, security, lighting control, electrical, plumbing and back-up power systems.
  • Working knowledge of a CMMS system (Maximo a plus).
  • Strong vendor management skillset.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Responsibilities

  • Perform or plan preventative maintenance, repair and site support services of facilities and equipment or serve as the focal point for contracted efforts.
  • Support local business units in execution of their goals and coordinate with 20+ vendors/contractors.
  • Support the development and implementation of preventive maintenance (PM) and predictive maintenance (PdM) programs within the CMMS for company facilities.
  • Interact with landlords of leased spaces in support of Blue Origin employees.
  • Develop and manage short- and long-term plans for maintenance, repairs, and capital expenses for facilities.
  • Negotiate with outside vendors and contractors, generate Statements of Work, and coordinate requests for proposals with Procurement.
  • Review existing contracted services and work scope to identify potential cost improvements and performance enhancements.
  • Maintain a high level of best-in-class safety standards for team and facilities.
  • Building coverage support responsibility: Leased office, research & development, and warehouse space (8 properties/625K square feet).
