About The Position

This 100-bed hospital serves the communities in and around Martin County. Here, you will work alongside passionate physicians, nurses and other caregivers in a family-oriented, supportive environment. As a Facilities Maintenance Technician II, you will perform preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment, structures and systems throughout Martin South Hospital. In this role, you will ensure a safe, functional and comfortable environment for patients, families and caregivers. Properly maintained equipment and building systems reduce delays in care, prevent safety risks and support a positive patient experience. This is a supportive, hands-on and communication-focused team that will allow you to advance your skills each day and potentially lead to promotion opportunities within Cleveland Clinic. A caregiver in this position works Monday-Friday from 12:00PM – 8:30PM, including rotating weekend on-call requirements every 6 weeks.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
  • Two years of work experience in general electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, mechanical repair or HVAC
  • Completion of a formal training program in building repair to include general electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, maintenance repair or HVAC may substitute for experience
  • Military experience such as a Utilitiesman (UT), Builder (BU), Machinists Mate (MM) or similar will be considered
  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
  • Ability to be mobile for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
  • Ability to move/transport items weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)
  • Ability to move/transport equipment weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)
  • Ability to move/transport carts weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)
  • Ability to inspect equipment
  • Ability to install, repair and maintain systems, equipment, fixtures and/or structures
  • Ability to distinguish color
  • Ability to climb ladders
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform minor maintenance repair work in one or more of the following areas: electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry and/or paint.
  • Perform utility and structural repairs as needed, alone or in collaboration with internal/external tradespersons.
  • Document and maintain records of inspections and work performed pursuant to departmental policies and warranty/vendor requirements.
  • Occasionally be assigned to work across multiple Cleveland Clinic locations.
