The Facilities Services Specialist is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of building systems across the facility. This role performs hands‑on maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and coordination of facility services with a strong emphasis on electrical systems. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, excellent problem‑solving skills, and experience supporting day‑to‑day building operations in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • A Associate degree, technical certificate or formal training in electrical, industrial maintenance, or related trade strongly preferred???
  • 3+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, building operations, or a related trades field.
  • Strong electrical experience (troubleshooting, repairs, installations).
  • Working knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, controls).
  • Customer‑service mindset with proactive communication.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documents.
  • Strong safety mindset and familiarity with OSHA and electrical safety standards.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, use ladders, and perform physical tasks as required.

Nice To Haves

  • HVAC or electrical licensing (state‑specific) is a plus.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
  • Detail‑oriented with strong follow‑through.
  • Team‑oriented, flexible, and responsive to operational needs.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily building operations to ensure all systems function reliably, including HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, and safety systems.
  • Perform general maintenance and repair work (carpentry, plumbing, painting, minor mechanical work, etc.) to maintain facility safety and cleanliness.
  • Monitor and maintain facility infrastructure such as doors, docks, gates, lighting, flooring, and workspaces.
  • Respond to facilities work orders and prioritize tasks based on urgency, safety, and operational needs.
  • Coordinate and oversee external vendors performing services such as HVAC, electrical, janitorial, security, landscaping, or specialized repairs.
  • Ensure all contracted work meets company standards, safety requirements, and timelines.
  • Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, circuits, breakers, outlets, and control panels.
  • Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions and identify root causes to ensure timely resolution.
  • Conduct routine electrical inspections in accordance with safety codes and internal policies.
  • Support machine and equipment electrical needs, collaborating with production and maintenance teams as required.
  • Conduct routine facility inspections to identify hazards, maintenance needs, and improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
  • Support emergency systems testing (alarms, generators, lighting, etc.).
  • Assist with space planning, equipment moves, and layout changes as needed.
  • Support company sustainability initiatives and cost‑saving facility improvements.
  • Participate in on‑call or after-hours response rotations when required.
